Thank you for your interest in Oak Tree Literacy. My name is Alida and I have been a literacy tutor since 2008, when I completed my training in the Orton-Gillingham method. To build my tutoring skills and learn more about the Science of Reading, I have continued to take additional courses. I have completed training in the Reading Simplified method, as well as the Cox Campus Structured Literacy Program, an accredited program recognized by the International Dyslexia Association. In addition to being a literacy tutor, I am also an Education Assistant in the Maple Ridge School District, supporting students with diverse needs from K-12 to meet their educational goals. I live in Maple Ridge in beautiful British Columbia, Canada, where I’m surrounded by mountains, lakes, wildlife and an abundance of trees!
